Aboard the flagship Hammerfall, in orbit around Scintilla
The ever-present background hum of a voidships lifesigns is suddenly interrupted by the scratching of quill on parchment as the emaciated husk of the receptacle suddenly bursts into action. The skeletal form of the ancient servant, preserved in its mummified form to serve even in death, seems eerily alive as it scratches out the message sent from light-years beyond the veil outside the Periphery, from the Red Hells of Gloaming. Though the vessel appears Imperial in form, there are constant reminders of its decidedly non-Imperial origin wherever you look.
“Yes, best not to let any Imperial inspection-crew aboard” Brutus considers considers with a grin as he rips the parchment from the receptacles hand.
In your name I have scryed the secretive minds of the Enslaver subjects you left in my care. Though their nature is alien and their resilience to probing and inquiries formidable, in the end I persevered and learned much of their secrets.
It appears the actual entity has no physical form, and when I succeeded in separating it from the host body it appeared only as a shadow to my witch-sight before manifesting a corporeal host in the shape of a cnidarian-arachnid hybrid.
I believe you will find the fact that they appear engineered to be of particular interest. There are definite signs in the sembience that the entities you defeated so thoroughly in the glorious battle of Apex are not as their origins were. IT would take powerful sorcery indeed to dominate such a creature and change it according to your will and designs, and I hope you will learn more of this master so that we may in turn learn from him these secrets!
After much persuading the subjects were persuaded to speak, vocalizing through the remains of their previous hosts no less. Most intriguing! Enslavement of will and function that supersedes exorcism and death, I never knew of such a thing!
They spoke in riddles and madness, but all mentioned The Empty Hunger and somehow paving the way for the masters return. I could not make much more of it, but it appears that the avian species whose craft you found on dusk were subjugated to extermination by the Enslavers. The craft you found were carrying prisoners captured (at great cost) in battle, returning to their homeworld in their peoples last hope at finding a way to defeat their enemy. The fact that these captured Enslavers can recount these events that happened after their capture and chronohibernation is testament to their extraplanar existence. There may be many of their species still at large, still preparing for the masters return.
I propose we release these specimens, and follow their return to their fold, to learn of this master and the powerful sorceries he wields. Imagine our power if we could master the Domination of the Eslavers! We would subjugate the galaxy!
Yours in eternal friendship and servitude,
Hiro Shima de Naga Saki
